This is a contract to hire position. Must be able to convert to full-time employee.

Location: Clearwater, FL work onsite may consider hybrid.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess at least Bachelor s/College Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent
  • 5 years of proven experience as a Release Manager in a DevOps environment
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps principles and practices
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Shell, Python, or PowerShell)

Responsibilities

  • Highly motivated and experienced Dev Ops Release Manager to build and support the strategic Product line
  • As a DevOps Release Manager, this position will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end release management process, ensuring the successful and timely delivery of software releases to users and customers
  • The DevOps Release Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, QA, and Monitoring Operations, to streamline release pipeline and drive continuous improvement in the release processes
  • You will work with Software Development teams to improve and mature software release management and deployment best practices processes

Release Planning and Execution

  • Collaborate with product managers and development teams to plan release schedules and prioritize features and bug fixes Maintain/uphold Azure Dev Ops to manage key information like build and release procedures, notification lists, and dependencies
  • Coordinate release activities, including code deployments, configuration management, and environment setup, to ensure smooth and error-free releases
  • Develop scripts and automation tools to drive product development, integration, and deployment of software releases to different platforms
  • Identifies and analyzes issues, bugs, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products; recommends and facilitates solutions to these issues
  • Provide production support through troubleshooting and triaging processes to identify software bugs
  • Release Reporting: Provide regular reports and metrics on release status and performance to management and stakeholders
  • Facilitate effective communication between development, QA, and Monitoring Operations teams to ensure everyone is aligned on release timelines and requirements
  • Communicate with the team regarding key project plans, commitments, and essential changes which include project requirements, schedule, scope changes, and QA plans
  • Maintain detailed release documentation, including release notes, deployment procedures, and version control
  • Key contributor to CAB meetings to provide the release scope, blocking items and define the backout and recovery plans
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that may impact release schedules or product quality

Quality Assurance:

  • Work closely with QA teams to ensure thorough testing of releases, including regression testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing
  • Implement and maintain automation tools and scripts to streamline the release process and improve efficiency
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the release process by identifying bottlenecks and implementing best practices and process enhancements
  • Evolve configuration management requirements through research of the latest configuration management and software development technologies
  • Flexibility in work schedule - meetings and phone calls with offshore teams
